This beautiful instrument built in 2009 by master luthier Woodley White out of Naalehu, Hawaii features a fine European spruce top, African blackwood back and sides, and a spalted maple rosette. Woodley White guitars feature a full, rich tone with pristine clarity and a perfect balance from the trebles to the bass strings. The craftsmanship is top-notch and the playability of this instrument is excellent. He studied guitar building with master luthier Jeffrey Elliott out of Portland, Oregon before moving to Hawaii over 20 years ago. He uses the traditional Hauser/Torres design from 1943 and builds with both an open harmonic bar first designed by Jeffrey Elliott or the traditional harmonic bar desgin. Many professional guitarists play his instruments and William Jenks currently plays exclusively on a Woodley White guitar.

This particular instrument is unique becuase it utilizes a smaller 640 mm scale design rather than the standard 650 mm scale. You can't even tell by looking at the guitar that it is smaller it is only noticeable to the player. Smaller scale guitars are becoming more popular these days and this particlar short scale guitar design will allow the player to achieve the same volume and tone of a standard scale guitar while making the stretches and overall playability much easier. The upgraded African blackwood featured on this guitar, is a very rare and valuable species of wood that creates a great hard surface for sound to bounce off of resulting in great volume and projection.

Even though this guitar is pre-owned in it in pristine condition and was refinished by Gregory Miller. the guitar is a real joy to play. The tuners are made by Graf.
